Personally, as someone who culture has played an (at best) neutral part in my life, I found Marie’s session to be very impactful on my assessments and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children. It was confronting (in a good way) and necessary to participate in the labelling activity as it definitely frames a lot of the significant generational trauma that is seen daily in our space in an impactful way. Marie was a great facilitator and demonstrated a wealth of expertise, knowledge and understanding around the challenges that we face working with Child Safety. I believe that anyone participating in similar sessions will find great benefit in absorbing the meaning and lessons that were brought forward.
